I'm only giving this store 1 star because Google is making me. Otherwise, I would be giving it a big ZERO. Judging by the 1.8 starts the store already has, I see that I am not alone in my sentiments. I am the Human Resources Director for a national construction company located just a few blocks away from this location. We run a teammate of the month program through which our branch winners receive a $100 gift card. This requires me to purchase 10+ gift cards per month to bring to all of our branches when we announce our winners. I had gone in there prior and purchased that many gift cards after explaining myself to the assistant manager, who was very kind and also able to think for himself and see that I was paying with a company card, with identification while wearing a company uniform. I was in there on Monday, August 1, 2017 while ANGELA was the manager on duty. I very kindly explained to the cashier what my situation was and that I had spoken to a manager last month who said that this was ok. Not being able to think and see for herself, she called for assistance from the manager, ANGELA. ANGELA was called to the register 3 times, to which she never even responded. Then the cashier paged her and asked her to call the front instead. ANGELA refused to come down to assist a customer who spends a great deal with their company on a regular basis. At this point the clerk placed me on the phone with her. UNACCEPTABLE! I was a customer with an issue. You are a store manager. IT IS YOUR JOB TO HANDLE THESE KINDS OF SITUATIONS. To leave the responsibility on a minimally paid, elderly cashier as her lines begins to lengthen is despicable and just plain lazy. Though I very much did not appreciate being placed on a phone to speak to someone who sitting a mere feet away in an office somewhere, I very kindly explained that I was not a criminal, I had no way of committing fraud with these gift cards as not only was Walgreens watching, but using my corporate card, my accounting department was watching me too! She said she was sorry that a manager had given me prior approval as it is not their policy to sell more than 5 gift cards to any one person in a day. She said that because of the blunder the manager I had spoken to previously, she would honor my needs on that particular day by allowing me to make 2 separate transactions in order to purchase all 10 of the gift cards. I said I greatly appreciated her accommodating my needs and that I would plan ahead next time and buy them on separate days in the future. I told the cashier the agreement we had made at which point she treated me like a lying thief again and called the manager back to confirm. TO MY ASTONISHMENT...ANGELA told her she would not allow me to purchase ANY of the gift cards DIRECTLY AFTER SAYING SHE WOULD ALLOW A ONE TIME PASS because I clearly was not a criminal or trying to commit fraud. ALL THE WHILE ANGELA NEVER SHOWED HER FACE OR CAME TO DEAL WITH THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUE ON HER OWN AS SHE SHOULD BEING A "STORE MANAGER". Between her passive aggressive behavior, unwillingness to do her job and also her choice to dump her responsibilities on her ill prepared co-workers makes me wonder how she continues to hold any position with this company, let alone one in management. I will never go there again, nor will anyone from my organization. ANGELA: You ought to be ashamed of your "work ethic".
